Eurocode MQB MK7 Golf 1.8 TSI & Audi A3 1.8T FWD Modular Downpipe with Test Pipe
We are proud to introduce our Modular Downpipe with High Flow Cat or Test Pipe. Our Modular Downpipe is designed fit seamlessly with the factory turbocharger and exhaust system, reducing much of the restriction seen with the OEM catalytic converter, allowing the engine to make greater power and torque.
Why design a modular downpipe? Enthusiasts ourselves, we have always enjoyed the increased performance from both a test pipe and high flow cat, and quite often have swapped between them during motorsports, high performance driving events & magazine shoot outs. We felt that the consumers would love a product that is high quality, compact to ship and upgradable for a nominal cost.
Our goal was to build what we feel is the finest product we could, and do it at a price that consumers would feel is fair. Additionally, we wanted to manufacture the product here in California. To accomplish this, we designed our own forged stainless steel v-band flange to mate up to the factory turbo, use mandrel bent stainless steel piping, and the highest quality stainless steel clampco v-band clamps. Our v-band design interlocks the front and rear sections with the middle high flow catalytic converter or test pipe section, allowing our customers to "hot swap" (we prefer to do it when cold ;)) the cat for a test pipe or vice versa.
The MQB engine was the first we have seen that included a bracket on it to support the weight of the exhaust, isolating it from the turbine housing. We felt that this important enough for VW to include, so we decided to utilize it with our own laser cut stainless steel bracket. Connecting our downpipe to the factory cat back section is accomplished with our rear section, which tapers from 3" to the exact same diameter as OEM. There no cutting, welding or chassis modification required with our modular downpipe during the installation either.
Modular design, utilizes all factory mounting locations and hardware. Easy to swap out high flow catalytic converter for a catless test pipe.
